Our heavenly Father took our Mon, Oma and Great-Oma to be with Him Sunday 11 May 2014.

Cornelia Adriana Versluis-Hoeijenbos was born 9 April 1922 in Tienhoven, the Netherlands. She grew up on a dairy farm and followed her father’s wish to become a teacher. After teaching for 3 years Corrie married Willem Hoeijenbos, a dashing mechanic 5 years her senior. Three daughters and 7 years of persuasion later, in June 1952, they emigrated to Canada. Eight months of winter Edmonton sent them to Toronto where they became part of an active Christian Reformed immigrant community.

On moving to Weston in 1957, Corrie & Wim actively participated in erecting Timothy Christian School, Rexdale and later the Toronto District Christian High School, Woodbridge. Corrie attended Ladies Society at 2nd CRC and was a member of the Timothy school board. A fourth daughter was born March 1959.

Corrie and Wim enjoyed many years of travel on land and water before moving to Holland Christian Homes in 1994. Corrie was widowed in January 1996. She caught the eye of Boelie Wagter in November 2001. They were married in June 2002. Boelie passed away in June 2012.

Corrie will be remembered for her great smile, humor, kind and serving heart as well as her unflagging faith in our Lord.

Mom, we love you and will miss you. You left behind a wonderful and memorable heritage. Thank you.
